Where programming fits in

Almost every car built in the last twenty years has an immobiliser — a small chip inside the head of the key that the car's computer challenges and verifies before allowing the engine to start. Cut a perfect blade for a chipped car without programming the chip and the lock will turn but the engine won't run. Programming is the step that turns a piece of cut metal into a working car key.

What we program

  • Spare transponder keys for cars that already have one working key.
  • Full replacement keys for lost-key situations.
  • Remote fobs with central locking, boot release and panic functions.
  • Proximity smart keys with push-button start.
  • Fleet vehicle keys, with logged programming for compliance.

Spare keys are cheap insurance

Programming a spare while you still have a working key is fast and inexpensive — we clone the transponder using your existing key as a reference. The day you lose the original, a spare in the drawer saves you the cost and delay of a full lost-key replacement. We strongly recommend a spare for every car that only has one.

Where we operate

Mobile coding across the CBD, Sea Point, the V&A, Century City, Rondebosch, Bellville and the rest of Cape Town.

  • Cutting shapes the metal blade so the lock turns. Programming pairs the transponder chip or fob with your car's immobiliser so the engine will actually start. Modern cars need both.
