How car lockouts work today

Most modern cars no longer have an exposed metal door lock that yields to a coathanger. They have shielded cylinders, central-locking interlocks, and in many cases proximity smart keys that need to be inside the cabin for the doors to unlock. The right tool is a wedge-and-rod kit, a lock-decoder cut for the vehicle profile, or a long-reach hook depending on the model. None of them touch your paint or glass.
